The National Committee on Accreditation (NCA) evaluates candidates for admission to a law society in a Canadian common law jurisdiction who have completed their civil law degree in Canada or were trained outside of Canada. The NCA frequently stipulates that applicants must successfully finish particular courses, either by enrolling in a specific course at a Canadian law school or by completing the NCA's challenge exams. Students from non-common law jurisdictions who have had little to no exposure to common law and anybody who has finished their qualifying law degree through distance education are frequently required to enroll in courses at a Canadian law school.
