These Family Law notes are summarized according to the revised January 2024 NCA syllabus and include the case and chapter summaries listed in the syllabus. The notes are based off the 9th edition Payne textbook. However, headings and material organization has been slightly varied from the NCA syllabus in order to improve organization and ease learning. However, a new January 2025 syllabus was released which updates the main text from the 9th to the 10th edition. The only other changes appear to be the addition of one article under the Parentage section and 6 new cases.
The cases are:
Auer v Auer, 2024 SCC 36
Sonia v Ratan, 2024 ONCA 152
Vyazemskaya v Safin, 2024 ONCA 156
Enyedy-Goldner v Goldner, 2024 ONSC 1755
Tolushe v Tolushe, 2024 ONCS 4868 (at para 26)
JB v BF, 2025 NBKB 14 (at para 64-67)
