FAQs

1) How is the 2nd edition different from the 1st edition of the criminal law notes?
The first edition of our notes has been around for 10 years and has served thousands of NCA candidates well. The main difference between the two editions is the and structure of the notes. Below you can see over 30 sample pages and compare that against the style of the 1st edition to see which format meets your learning style. Another difference is the layout of the notes is in portrait mode whereas the first edition is in landscape mode with extra fine font and two columns per page. Some students find portrait mode easier to read. Finally, the second edition contains more case law to support minute-specific fact scenarios. We also have 41 short answer questions that you can use to test your own knowledge of the materials. Near the end of the notes, you will find the responses to those questions.

2) Why are the notes so long?

These notes are longer than our first edition because the font size is large and there is a single page per sheet. We also incorporated many sections of the criminal code directly into the notes to make your studying flow easier without having to reference or look up specific provisions in the criminal code,

3) Can I purchase the MS Word or editable version of the 2nd edition?

No, the notes are only available in PDF format and the files are locked for editing. You may print out these files, there is nothing preventing you from printing the materials. Please note that some Office Depot locations will not allow you to print secured PDF documents. There is their own store policy and not a limitation of the file format. The file is unlocked for printing at the highest quality.
