About the Course:
Lawyers should have an appreciation for the various vehicles for conducting business and know both their advantages and disadvantages. This course walks you through business structures and the risks associated with each business model. You will learn strategies to mitigate those risks. The course also delves into various forms of remedies, including remedies for minority stakeholders such as shareholders, creditors and other parties.
About the instructor:
Liran was called to the bar in New York in 2013 and to the Ontario bar in 2014. He left private practice in New York to pursue a master of laws degree in business law on a full scholarship at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. He completed his undergraduate degree in Business Administration in the prestigious co-op program at the University of Toronto and a bachelor of laws degree from the University of Manchester.
Today Liran is a public international speaker and law instructor. He is a former board member of a publicly traded investment issuer trading on the CSE where he chaired the committee on corporate governance and regulations and was a member of the audit and compensation committees.
Teaching is his passion and he’s personally worked with over 2000 internationally trained lawyers from 58 different countries. Hundreds of his former students are practising today in family, criminal, immigration, civil litigation, corporate, tax, real estate, estate planning and personal injury law to name a few.
