Back to 3 hour exams

Paradise was nice while it lasted. The NCA made an announcement yesterday that they are going back to 3-hour exams in 2022. We knew the extended time for writing exams was only a temporary measure. The word is official now.

Starting in January 2022, exams will be reduced from the current 4-hour allotment to 3.5 hours. This will continue throughout January to June 2022. In July 2022, there will be a further reduction in the exams from 3.5 hours to 3 hours.

When the NCA initially introduced the 1-hour extension, it was meant to assist those candidates who experienced technical difficulties with the online exam software and to accommodate those candidates who felt their typing was slower than their handwriting. The NCA did say that the extended allotments would be temporary and that we would eventually return to a 3-hour exam. We're glad to see that sufficient notice is being provided and that students can begin to prepare themselves for the 3-hour exams.

The NCA also announced an updated syllabus for Evidence.
