2021 Foundations Syllabus is now available!

The NCA released a new syllabus for Foundations of Canadian Law as well as a new syllabus for the Remedies subject. The focus on this post is the changes made to the Foundations syllabus

The changes to this syllabus are substantial and below is a summary of our findings

New Materials:

1) The textbook for the course has been updated to include the 4th edition released in 2020
Forcese, Dodek et al. Public Law: Cases, Commentary, and Analysis, Fourth Edition (Toronto: Emond Montgomery, 2020)

There are 10 chapters in the assigned readings of the book which cover a substantial portion of the textbook.

2) 13 new articles have been added to the syllabus. The combined number of pages for the articles alone is 469.

3) 5 new cases were added to syllabus

When will your notes be updated?

The syllabus was released today and our course instructors will begin reviewing the changes immediately. There is no way for us to predict when we might complete the updates to our notes. Typically an update like this takes a minimum of 100 hours of labour. We will do our best to aim to have the updates before the January exams but we cannot guarantee that they will be available by then.
