Yesterday I met with a client, an experienced lawyer from South America, for a private tutoring class. He is a proud new father who had been out of a job for several months because of Covid. NCA Changes October Exam Dates
On September 23rd, the NCA announced a revised October 2020 exam timetable, moving some of the NCA exams roughly 12 days before they were originally scheduled. These changes have a significant impact on many candidates writing their exams. It affects NCA Tutor™ students registered in three of our exam workshops: Professional Responsibility, Foundations of Canadian Law, and Property Law. Those students will find that they are now writing their exams before the exam workshops were scheduled to take place.
We have written a petition to the NCA to request they reconsider the decision to move the exams to earlier dates and have suggested that moving them forward to November would have a lesser impact on many candidates.

Whether you are just starting the NCA process, continuing to plug along, or moving on to articling and the bar exams, there are likely many question marks ahead floating around topics like online classes/exams, articling placements, and job security.

Perhaps you feel like your career goals and timelines have been derailed; maybe you feel like some of your goals are no longer achievable; or maybe you are daunted by how long the road to licensing appears. You aren’t alone.
